Due to the extremes in temperatures of our climate, and the precision and tolerances of German automobile manufacturing, and our past experiences in noting engine damage that could have been avoided; We recommend that engine oil, and filter be replaced every 12,000 Kilometers, and 10,000 Kilometers for vehicles with mileage that is above 100 thousand kilometers. Oil must be a full synthetic blend as well as meeting, or exceeding the manufacturer’s prescribed oil specifications.
At Garage du Quercy we follow the manufacture’s maintenance schedule. For the customer, the information on what needs to be checked and/or replaced is usually contained in the vehicle’s owner’s manual. For us, we have that same information, and follow that schedule to the letter.
Depending on mileage, driving conditions, and climate, a scheduled maintenance can range from, a simple engine oil and filter with a minimum inspection, to air and cabin filter replacement, replacing spark plugs, brake service, brake fluid condition check or replacement, transmission oil and filter (if applicable), and any other part replacement if deemed worn or damaged.
In either case, we will inform you on the cost and amount of time it will take. no work will be performed without the customer’s consent.
